I feel summers have always been about the small things, mangoes, Khus Sherbat (which I still hate ) but being home. I think my fondest memory of summers would always be travel and spending time with my family, cousins and friends. Cricket matches all day long to lagori, to those lazy afternoon naps.

Summer has always been my favourite season because of 2 things. First because I used to enjoy my summer holidays by either going on a vacation or by enjoy watching IPL matches while having my favourite mango ice-cream.

My fondest summer memory has to be one from my childhood. I was living with my grandparents when I was three years old. We had this massive Mango tree in our backyard. I remember being very excited to pick some raw mangoes from the tree with my Ajoba because Aaji wanted to make some fresh pickles. He’d use this bar to just sort of lightly plucking them and the raw mangoes fall on the roof. Then I’d go collect them in a little cloth and bring them into the kitchen with excitement. Summers were the best when we were kids, life was slow and simple.

As a child, summer vacation was the epitome of excitement and adventure. Beating the heat by spending the day at a water park with my friends and cousins, stuffing our faces with funnel cake and burgers, and returning home content and exhausted are some of my fondest summer memories.

I come from a place which is really hot in summer so my mom would lock us inside the house and serve us with water melons, rose sharbat. We use to play cards, ludo and chess while old fashioned cooler use to be on.
