With more and more people wanting to get conscious about their consumption patterns, new-age fashion brands are ramping up with sustainability at the heart of their business. Here’s what our algorithm spilled when we were looking for new eco-conscious fashion brands on the block:

GLEAN

This super fun and sustainable brand has a lil’ something for every eco-conscious  consumer out there! Their designs are ethical, timeless and eco friendly, and what’s  more?, they plant a tree for every purchase you make with them.

GREEN ASH

This up and coming eco-conscious brand comes with a purpose which is to redirect textile waste from the landfills and back to your wardrobe. Drawing from the local cultural  techniques of patching fabric and upcycling it, the brand aims to produce garments with the motive to avoid the exploitation of labour who makes the clothes. 3. Naalgo by DD

If you wish to inject some Indian pieces with modern prints and patterns in your wardrobe, this brand should top your list of brands to shop from. This Jaipur based brand stocks some interesting block printed and patchworked pieces. They bag a full high score on affordability, comfort, and of course the sustainability quotient. The brand’s intention is to create timeless pieces that aren’t confined to a particular kind of person and to make fashion all inclusive. The brand stands for sustaining handcrafted fashion. They’re highly inspired by nature and work with nature in sustainable ways, and not at the cost of nature. If you wish to make a positive impact too, November Noon is the brand you’re after this summer. Brand USP: Silhouettes, wardrobe staples 

DAMASQUE

6. Damasque

Their whole approach to fashion is slow and sustainable, yet sophisticated. Their primary aim is to reduce the carbon footprint and wastage of fabric. If your eco-conscious self resonates, they’re worth the try. Brand USP: Comfortable silhouettes, pastels

COCOLENI

7. COCO LENI

Based out of Goa, currently the brand has made sustainability its top priority. Their aim is to revive handmade eyewear the way they used to be made in 1946 when the brand was originally conceived. It prides itself of being of German descent and ethically sourcing eco-friendly materials- be it wood, acetate or titanium.

S.O.I.L

8. S • O • I • L

Streetsofindialabel aka S.O.I.L, a women-led-owned-run brand, adopts the ‘less is more’ philosophy. They make use of organic and recycled cotton fabrics, with the aim to reduce

 their chemical footprint and design clothes that don’t have a negative impact on the planet. Cool and conscious is the new style mantra, embrace it with all heart! Brand USP: Indo-western, subtle prints, few statement pieces.

Looking for handmade items for your wardrobe? Dragnopara is the answer, a brand which practices conscious, ethical and grounded choices. Brand USP: Earthy prints, Indian touch, cool patterns.
